Eastside Welcomes First Contemporary Luxury Boutique Hotel
With Portland, Ore., becoming a more in-demand destination for food and attractions, there’s become a greater need for hotel rooms. And that’s exactly why it’s a huge deal that northeast Portland just opened its first ever luxury boutique hotel, Hotel Eastlund.
Hotel Eastlund is the first contemporary, luxury boutique hotel to open its doors in downtown Portland’s Eastside neighborhood, near the Lloyd Center. With the opening of this new hotel, Portland has greatly increased its much-needed hotel rooms.
Hotel Eastlund features 168 rooms and suites, a ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows, two executive boardrooms and two private dining rooms overlooking downtown. Guest rooms and suites have either California Kings or the first-ever California Queens, as well as commissioned artwork by Loui Jover and Badri Valian.
All rooms and suites feature down pillows and blankets; a 47-inch smart HD TV; Keurig coffeemaker; USB charging ports at the desk and nightstand; and a luxurious modern bathroom with dual sinks, a soak-in tub and walk-in shower.
A spacious lobby welcomes guests to unwind or work, with high-speed Internet and on-site printing services. The hotel also offers more than 5,300 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views overlooking downtown Portland.
In addition, Hotel Eastlund boasts world-class dining on its rooftop restaurant and bar, Altabira City Tavern. Situated on the top floor of the Hotel Eastlund, Altabira is an American beer-centric restaurant and bar by Chef David Machado.
The restaurant is perched high above Portland’s fast-growing Lloyd District on the city’s Eastside. With sweeping views of downtown, Altabira City Tavern offers smart pairings of food and drink in an ultra-modern setting. Altabira offers 16 tap handles of local craft beers, plus select European and Northwest wines and locally distilled spirits. Altabira’s dining room seats 60,d an the four-sided bar seats 34. A gorgeous patio with windbreaks, heaters and firepits accommodates more than 100 people.
Citizen Baker is Machado’s bakery, cafe and wine bar concept on the lobby level of Hotel Eastlund. This artisan bakery and gourmet coffee bar features freshly baked artisan breads and pastries for breakfast, as well as creative soups, salads and sandwiches seven days a week for lunch. In the evenings, Citizen Baker becomes a wine bar.
Hotel Eastlund’s location cannot be beat. The hotel is adjacent to the Oregon Convention Center, Moda Center, Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the Central Eastside’s culinary hub with its artisan distilleries, restaurants and breweries.
