Fall For Portland

Posted on:

There is so much to do in and around our great city and Hotel Eastlund’s convenient location on the Eastside of downtown Portland allows you easy access to PDX Airport and center city via the MAX Light Rail and the Portland Streetcar, both of which stop adjacent to the hotel.

Ask our talented concierge staff about current events and must-see destinations. Here are a few of our favorite recommendations for fall in the Rose City:

Austin, TX band Shakey Graves are appropriately named to play a special Halloween Show at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, October 31. The night before at the same location, you can watch Tim Burton’s unique vision come to life as the Oregon Symphony performs the score of The Nightmare Before Christmas live to the movie. Costumes are encouraged.

Throughout October, you can visit the Bella Organic Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze– open at dusk with a free bonfire and free hayrides to the patch. Or maybe you want to share beer tastings and ghost stories on the BeerQuest Halloween Haunted Pub Tour, which hops to various stops most nights during October. In addition to the many haunted houses and pumpkin delicacies to be found in PDX, our beloved Portland Trail Blazers also tip-off their 2015 season on October 28 at the Moda Center, just steps away from Hotel Eastlund.

In November there are plenty of quirky local events, like the Holiday Junk Fest at the Oregon Convention Center. This homegrown, nationally-recognized vintage market features mountains of goods and gift ideas and it all happens right across the street from our hotel. From November 12-17, there’s the 42nd Northwest Filmmakers’ Festival sponsored by the Portland Art Museum.

So many things to do, so little time. If you are staying at Hotel Eastlund this fall, don’t forget our rooftop restaurant Altabira City Tavern and its fast-growing happy hour. We also recommend travelportland.com and pdxpipeline.com for news about more fun events in and around Portland.
