‘The Bachelor’: Eastlund Edition
Over Valentine’s Day, Marcus Grodd, former contestant on The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, gave a rose to our luxury Portland hotel. To celebrate the special weekend, Marcus and his girlfriend stayed at Hotel Eastlund while they explored the city, sipped champagne, and dined on pizza at our Portland rooftop bar and restaurant.
We chatted with Marcus about what made Hotel Eastlund the perfect place to spend a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend.
Eastlund: Why did you decide to stay at Hotel Eastlund?
Marcus: I was looking for a special place to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend, and I found the perfect downtown Portland hotel with magnificent rooms, bar and rooftop restaurant. It was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
E: What was your favorite part about your stay?
M: The room was our favorite place about the hotel. It’s honestly hard to pick out just one thing, but if I had to choose, the room was epic!
E: Have you been to Portland before? Favorite things to do?
M: We have been to Portland a few times before. We love the downtown area and each restaurant we have been to has been nothing short of delicious. Biking and walking the river walk were among our favorite things to do.
E: Any drink or food suggestions at Altabira [our Portland rooftop restaurant]?
M: I’m a beer guy, so the selection of beers on tap make it hard to pick one…we just had to try all of them! For food options, the pizzas were the best, hands down!
E: Pro tips for future Eastlund visitors?
M: My best advice is to get up early and take advantage of the cafe [Citizen Baker] downstairs!
E: How did Hotel Eastlund help make your trip to Portland special?
M: Hotel Eastlund had flowers and champagne in the room waiting for us when we arrived for our Valentine’s stay. Along with a beautiful note, they always asked us if there was anything else that they could do to make our stay memorable. Best stay in Portland — we’re coming back here when we visit again.
